However the company has decided to degrade themselves by adding adware to their latest releases. So, the newer versions of BS Player are NOT recommended. Codecs are required to play many types of files such as DivX, .ogm and others. If your file won't play, this is probably the reason. It can be a real pain to locate and install all the different codecs. There is an easier way. The CCCP codec pack is designed for anime:
